Storms don’t warn you before they hit. One moment, life is smooth sailing, and the next, you’re caught in waves you never saw coming. Maybe it’s an unexpected loss, a financial setback, or a season of uncertainty where everything feels out of control. In those moments, fear whispers, You're not going to make it.
But here’s the truth: faith doesn’t stop the storms, but it anchors you through them.
The disciples knew what it was like to feel helpless in a storm. They were in a boat, tossed by violent waves, completely overwhelmed. Panic set in, and in their fear, they turned to Jesus—who was asleep. How could He sleep while they were drowning? But instead of responding to their panic, Jesus simply stood up, rebuked the wind, and said, “Quiet! Be still!” And immediately, the storm was calm (Mark 4:39).

It wasn’t the absence of the storm that gave them peace—it was the presence of Jesus.
Maybe you're in a storm right now, struggling to hold on. You don’t see the way out, and the waves keep crashing. But just because you can’t see Jesus working doesn’t mean He isn’t in the boat with you. Sometimes, the greatest faith isn’t about asking for a way out but trusting that He’s with you in the middle of it.
“He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, 'Quiet! Be still!' Then the wind died down and it was completely calm.” — Mark 4:39
We don’t get to choose when storms come, but we can choose where we anchor our faith. Fear will always try to convince us that the waves are stronger than God’s promises, but the truth? No storm is greater than the One who walks on water.

If you’re in a storm right now, hold onto hope. Keep your eyes on Jesus, not the waves. You might not control the storm, but you can control where you anchor your faith.
