The Power of Small Steps

Close-up of person hiking on a rocky, moss-covered path in a sunlit forest. Wearing brown boots and green pants, evoking adventure.

Have you ever looked at a mountain and thought, There’s no way I could climb that? Life can feel like that sometimes—overwhelming, too big to tackle, too far to go. But what if the journey isn’t about conquering the entire mountain at once, but simply taking the next step?

Faith isn’t built in giant leaps. It grows in the small, everyday steps—when you choose to trust, even when you don’t see the full picture. A mustard seed may be tiny, but it has the power to move mountains. That’s what Jesus said in Matthew 17:20, reminding us that faith isn’t about size—it’s about where it’s placed.

It’s easy to think faith has to be dramatic. That trusting God means making huge, risky decisions. But the truth? Faith is just as powerful in the quiet, consistent steps as it is in the big leaps. It’s in the daily prayers, the moments of surrender, the small choices to believe that God is working even when you can’t see it.

“Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” — Matthew 17:20

Stone path through a lush green forest. Text reads, "Faith does not require giant leaps, just the courage to take one step."

You don’t have to have all the answers. You don’t need a perfect plan. You just need to take the next step. Because faith isn’t about knowing exactly where the path leads—it’s about trusting the One who does.
